Barcelona defender Gerard Pique has seen Spain’s competition committee choose to archive the file opened against him for complaints about refereeing.
In a long video chat with the Blaugrana captain, the subject of Spanish officiating came up.
“Last season’s league is the most absurd I have seen in my life. If we compare between Madrid and Barça, there’s a huge difference,” complained the Barcelona defender.
Madrid went on to win La Liga after getting plenty of dubious penalties in the final stretch of the season after the restart, overtaking Barca.
He also claimed that 85% of La Liga referees are Real Madrid fans. “How can they not blow for Madrid? Even if it’s subconscious,” he questioned.
Pique was denounced and they opened a case against him but he has avoided punishment.
