Gini Wijnaldum is demanding a raise on his current wages to stay with Liverpool.
WIjnaldum’s contract at Liverpool expires at the end of the season, and there is no sign of an extension at this moment in time.
Barcelona have been linked with his services for some time, but Fabrizio Romano has provided an insight on the contract offer from Liverpool‘s side to keep Wijnaldum at Anfield.
He said, “[The] last proposal from Liverpool some months ago was the same contract with the same salary he has right now for three years so Wijnaldum was not so happy with this proposal, still waiting so at the moment there is no agreement between Wijnaldum and Liverpool,” said Romano.
“His agents are talking with Barcelona people but there is nothing signed because it depends on [Ronald] Koeman.
“Koeman wants Wijnaldum but there is still nothing decided also on the Barcelona side so it’s a moment of talks but [it’s a] complicated situation with Liverpool and Barcelona leading the race but there is nothing signed yet with Wijnaldum and when you have free agents, you have to be careful until they sign the contract because they can change their mind in five minutes, so everything is open, but at the moment, no agreement with him.”
