Asensio’s goal gives Real Madrid a 1-0 lead over Eibar at half-time. The hosts had two goals disallowed for offside in the first half, with Benzema’s header being ruled out by the flag before Asensio’s flick past Dmitrovic was disallowed by VAR. Asensio also hit the bar with a free-kick but he managed to put his side ahead when he lifted a shot over the keeper and into the bottom-left corner.
45′ + 2′ HALF-TIME: REAL MADRID 1-0 EIBAR.
45′ Soares’ drilled cross is nodded down by Kike in the middle for Diop on the edge of the box. He lets it bounce in front of him before hitting the shot on the volley, but it’s straight down the middle at Courtois, who holds onto it.
43′ Eibar just can’t keep hold of the ball when they do get out of their own half at the moment as Alvarez tries to set Gil off down the right again. Vazquez is staying tight to him though and he can’t find space for a cross.
41′ Casemiro spots Asensio’s run towards the box early and does well to pick him out.
41′ ASENSIO SCORES! The Eibar defenders just sit back when he gets the ball off Casemiro and he has time to carry it into the box before taking a shot. Dmitrovic rushes off his line, but the forward lifts his effort over the goalkeeper to pick out the bottom corner and this one will count. 1-0 Madrid!
40′ Eibar just can’t get out of their own half at the moment as Madrid continue to push forward. Oliveira nicks the ball off Isco and tries to play in Gil with a long ball over the top, but he ends up gifting the ball straight to Nacho.
38′ NO GOAL! VAR has had a look at the goal and Asensio just set off too early and is standing in an offside position when he has the shot. The goal doesn’t stand and it’s still 0-0!
36′ MADRID LEAD! Vazquez makes a great run down the right and he pulls the ball back for Isco, who is running onto the edge of the box. He drills his shot first time and Asensio gets a small flick on it to take it between Dmitrovic’s legs and into the back of the net, but VAR is going to check this for offside…
35′ Marcelo gets his head up and spots Casemiro making a run between the two Eibar central defenders. He whips an early cross into the Brazilian’s path, but Dmitrovic quickly rushes off his line to reach it just ahead of him.
33′ Isco loops a deep cross into the box from the left and he’s looking for Benzema at the far post, but Arbilla clears it ahead of him. Modric has another chance to put the ball into the middle, but he can’t find a way past Alvarez.
31′ CHANCE! Leon does really well to keep the ball in play and lays it off to Pozo. He cuts inside from the right, wrongfooting Nacho in the process, and drills his shot towards the far post, but it flies well wide of the goal.
29′ Kike is bundled down by Mendy on the right and Leon swings a good cross into the near post for Eibar. He can’t pick out a team-mate though and Militao is there to clear the danger for Madrid.
27′ Pozo plays a one-two with Leon to try and open up some space down the right and he manages to squeeze a cross into the box, where Kike is waiting in the middle. It’s just behind him though and Nacho clears his lines.
25′ It’s great play from Madrid as the counter from Eibar’s corner and Isco makes a driving run down the left wing. He pulls it back for Modric who floats a deep cross into the box but it’s straight into Dmitrovic’s gloves.
23′ Madrid are on the attack again now and Marcelo cuts inside from the left to drill a shot on goal, but it’s blocked by Oliveira. It rebounds to Isco and he drills a low effort down the middle, but it’s a comfortable save for Dmitrovic.
21′ OFF THE BAR! Asensio steps up to take the free-kick that Vazquez won on the left and he curls a shot towards goal despite the tight angle. It’s over Dmitrovic’s outstretched hand but it bounces back off the corner of the bar.
20′ Gil tried to nick the ball off Vazquez and then pulled him back. He’s shown the first yellow card of the game and he’ll miss the next match against Levante.
19′ At home, Madrid have scored in each of their six LaLiga games against Eibar, scoring 16 goals in total and conceding only three (keeping three clean sheets).
17′ Every time Madrid go forward, they’re looking to Marcelo to make something happen down the left. This time, Modric picks him out, but Pozo isn’t allowing him any time on the ball and he can’t get a cross into the box.
15′ Vazquez switches play out to Marcelo on the left, and he has a lot of space to run into. He chooses to square it to Modric instead, but he’s caught on his heels and can’t get to it ahead of Arbilla.
13′ The corner is swung into the box for Madrid and it’s only half-cleared as far as Modric on the edge of the box. He drills a shot through the crowd in the middle, but it’s punched away by Dmitrovic.
11′ Eibar are keeping the ball well at the moment and are patiently playing their way out from the back. Garcia spots Gil’s run into the box and picks him out with a throughball, but he sends his first-time effort wide of the near post.
9′ Casemiro makes a late run into the box to try and get on the end of Marcelo’s cross at the far post, but he ends up on the ground. He’s claiming he was pulled back by Soares, but there wasn’t much in that and the referee waves the claim away.
7′ Madrid are keeping the pressure on Eibar here as Benzema manages to pick out Casemiro in space just outside the box. He decides to go for goal from range, but his effort is blocked by Oliveira.
5′ OFFSIDE! It’s a brilliant cross into the far post from Marcelo on the left after he turns away from Pozo. He floats it into Benzema, who has pulled away from his defender again and nods it in, but it’s disallowed as the flag goes up against the Frenchman.
4′ SAVE! Benzema gets in behind Eibar’s defence to reach Modric’s pass and he’s one-on-one with the goalkeeper. He takes it to the left, creating a tight angle for the shot, and Dmitrovic scrambles across to push it wide of the post.
2′ Kike wins a free-kick in midfield which sets Eibar on a quick attack and forces Courtois into early action. Diop gets on the end of Garcia’s pass and drills a shot at the near post, but Courtois pushes it away.
1′ Kike gets the game underway for Eibar!
