Incoming Barcelona president Joan Laporta has received the 125-million-euro bank guarantees required to officially have his election confirmed.
In the event that the Spanish league’s governing body validates the guarantees, Laporta will be able to take over at the Blaugrana on Wednesday, reports Marca.
Laporta has struggled to obtain the guarantees following the decision of Jaume Giro, in charge of the campaign’s finances, to resign last Saturday.
In the next few days, Laporta is expected to explain how he managed to reach an agreement with both Banco Sabadell and Audax to sign the guarantees.
It remains to be seen what kind of deal has Laporta sealed with Audax to convince them to sign a guarantee which is valued at approximately 75m euros.
