Jordi Cruyff has committed to two of the Barcelona presidential candidates.
Jurnalist Oriol Domenech claiming the ex-footballer will be part of Joan Laporta’s team.
It’s curious because Victor Font has already announced publicly that he also is counting on Cruyff if he’s elected. Cruyff would be his sporting director.
However, the latest news doesn’t rule out Font’s plan. Cruyff, in fact, has confirmed to both candidates that he would be willing to come back to Barça.
“It’s not about aligning with anyone, the candidates called him because in the case that they win, they want him in their team. We saw in the debate all three (Toni Freixa is the third candidate) have spoken with Xavi,” Domenech said on Esport 3.
Laporta’s plan is for Mateu Alemany to take on a sort of general manager role and for Cruyff to work alongside him as the sporting director.
“He will be like Raúl Sanllehi with Txiki and Zubizarreta. But Sanllehí was below them. In this case, I think they would be at the same level,” Domenech added.
