Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is not an option to become the next Barcelona coach should Joan Laporta wins the club’s presidential election, reports have claimed.
Arteta’s name was spouted in the Spanish press on Sunday as a potential candidate to replace Ronald Koeman at Camp Nou.
However, Goalclaims Laporta is not considering Arteta as an option to take over from the Dutchman.
That being said, Koeman’s future at the club is far from secure.
Koeman was handed a two-year contract last August after replacing Quique Setien.
But 57-year-old could be in trouble if the Blaugrana fail to win a trophy this season.
Barca are second in La Liga and face a tough task getting through to the Champions League quarter-finals, following their 4-1 loss at home to PSG in the first leg of their last-16 tie.
