Barcelona presidential candidate Joan Laporta says defeat to PSG in the Champions League was a tough one for fans.
Laporta revealed that after the defeat he spoke with Barcelona defender Gerarad Pique and said that the defender was “sunk”.
“(This defeat) can’t be erased, despite coming from a complicated injury and having the risk of relapsing from his physical problems. He was exemplary. It is in these difficult moments when you have to love Barça more. I have a very good relationship with him, but I’m not going to make more content of the conversation public,” said Laporta.
“The disappointment was huge. I wanted to go to bed, I was hurt like all Cules. When I got up the next day I knew that it was important to be with the players. We can’t use burn them up or leave them alone now there are no fans in the stands.
“We want to recover our winning mentality, we will do everything possible to (get these years back).”
