Manchester City midfielder Ilkay Gundogan admits Lionel Messi is his favourite current player.
The Barcelona star, off contract in June, is being linked with City.
And Gundogan told Sky Sports Mexico: “It’s a hard question. I would say that Leo Messi is my favourite player of all time because it is a great pleasure to see him, and I have the advantage to continue to see him play.
“Of course there are other players I remember, like Zinedine Zidane and Ronaldinho.
“I’ve seen many stars but if I can only choose one it’s probably Messi.”
