PSG coach Mauricio Pochettino says Xavi Simons deserved his debut this week.
The former Barcelona superkid, 17, made his first team debut in the Coupe de France win against Caen.
Afterwards, Pochettino was eager to ease expectations around the midfielder: “He will not be Iniesta or Xavi, but he has quality and imbalance to be able to develop a career in the first division.
“He is still very young, but he has very good potential.
“Our idea is to generate identity and value in our academy. The fact of debuting yesterday is the accumulation of many circumstances because many players had to rest.”
