Barcelona have rescheduled their presidential election for March 7.
The original date had been January 24, but all three candidates are now said to have agreed to push it back to March 7.
According to FC Barcelona statutes, the management committee may be holding their position for a maximum of three months. That deadline will be met next Thursday, the 28th and it is unknown what legal argument will be presented to extend that period.
The date is not one hundred percent certain, but the management board will meet again next Tuesday to prepare the electoral calendar, which would come into effect the following day, says Sport.
Voting on March 7 is subject to what happens with the elections for the Parliament of Catalonia, since two elections cannot coincide during the same period of time due to a logistics issue in the Post Office, who have to ensure the process of voting by mail, an option that will be used in both elections.
