Barcelona presidential candidate Victor Font insists Al Sadd coach Xavi remains his choice should he win election.
It’s been suggested Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp should be targeted after the January 24 vote.
But Font says, “If Xavi took part in the work? That’s right, and he said it himself. We have had a personal relationship and have shared our views on the club’s sporting needs for the past five years.
“He oversaw some of our work. It doesn’t mean that if we win Xavi will join me. But what no one has done is trust him as much as we do. Some say that he has no experience and that he should train B, others prefer Jürgen Klopp … Anyway, let’s each explain our project, but do not discredit our work with him.”
