Barcelona have been criticised by the local players’ union for missing payments to their B team players.
Barcelona B are among five Segunda Division B teams that have outstanding debts with their players. The Association of Spanish Footballers (AFE) reported that the Culé club was among the teams that had not paid at the end of the agreed term, at 10 p.m. on December 30.
Deportivo Alcoyano, Extremadura UD, Lleida Esportiu Terraferma and Real Club Recreativo de Huelva were the other teams that did not comply with their players and therefore are exposed to a sanction by the Spanish Football Federation.
“The Mixed Commission AFE-2nd Division B has reported on this matter to the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF), which will proceed to apply the measures contained in article 192 of the General Regulations of the RFEF,” said AFE in its statement.
Missing promotion to the Segunda Division last season cost Barca B €10m.
