Leeds United boss Marcelo Bielsa says Pep Guardiola has “damaged football”.
Bielsa, speaking with DAZN, believes the Manchester City manager Guardiola’s work with Barcelona transformed the game.
“Guardiola did a lot of damage to football because, unintentionally, he invented a system that shows how a Guardiola team can be defended against,” he said.
“One thing is Klopp, one thing is Guardiola and another thing is me. I cannot consider myself on a plane of comparison or equality.”
Bielsa also said that “nothing beats what it feels like to direct Newell’s, but speaking of Europe, Marseille and Bilbao are two unique places to breathe football,” said the Argentine, who considers false modesty as a “scam”.
