Super agent Jorge Mendes had a deal in place for Manchester United to sign Barcelona whiz Ansu Fati, it has been revealed.
Sport says a stunning deal for a La Liga star came close for the club.
United were linked with a move for Barcelona starlet Ansu Fati, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer willing to pay the 17-year-old’s £153m fee.
With the Spanish giants hit hard by Covid-19, Mendes took the opportunity to put a deal together worth €150m [£133m] for the forward who has already scored 13 goals in 45 games for the club.
But Barca “refused to assess the proposal”, despite describing it as a “dizzying” prospect for the club.
The report states this may not be the end, though, as the super agent is expected to bring the figures back to the Nou Camp team “in times of crisis” to put pressure on a sale.
