Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane wants them to join the battle for Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martinez.
Barcelona pushed hard to sign Lautaro last summer, but hit a road-block with Inter insisting the striker only depart for the equivalent of his €111m buyout clause.
With Zidane seeking a long-term successor for Karim Benzema, Real have been linked with Borussia Dortmund star Erling Haaland.
However, Italian sources say Zidane prefers Inter ace Lautaro, convinced the Argentine is better suited to his system.
Lautaro’s current deal doesn’t carry a buyout clause, which could offer Real the chance to negotiate a more realistic fee for the striker in 2021.
