It’s been just over five years since the Hammers last took three points home from Liverpool – though recent results against the big sides have been positive for today’s visitors: beating Leicester and earning draws with Spurs and Manchester City in their last five matches.
Liverpool have made it three wins on the bounce in all competitions after a 2-0 midweek win against Midtjylland in the Champions League. Should they make it four, Jurgen Klopp’s side will go temporarily top of the table by themselves – at least until Everton’s clash with Newcastle tomorrow. Despite the absence of Virgil Van Dijk the Reds defence has held firm, conceding just once in the three matches since his injury.
