Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu could offer his resignation later today.
Bartomeu’s board will be meeting this afternoon to discuss the club’s budget and the move of no confidence against them.
It’s been suggested before setting a date for the membership to vote on the motion, Bartomeu and his board will submit their resignations, reports Sport.
Due to Spain’s current lockdown, Bartomeu believes the best move for all concerned would be to offer their resignation rather than members be forced to vote under the situation.
The election is set for March 20 and 21 next year. And with such a vote costing the club €500,000 to €1m, it’s also suggested Bartomeu sees the exercise of two voting events in less than 12 months as a waste of money.
