Barcelona midfielder Sergi Busquets says Sergio Ramos‘ penalty was decisive in defeat to Real Madrid.
Although the referee of the game didn’t initially award Real Madrid a penalty, the VAR encouraged the referee to check the incident and he subsequently pointed to the spot.
“[The game] was even, especially in the first half,” Busquets noted. “In the second, we had two dangerous chances. We were comfortable, we had the ball and we found spaces.
“[The penalty] tipped the balance in their favour. They were more comfortable and hit on the counter after scoring.
“It’s difficult because you see that there are many games and plays like [the penalty]. One against Real Betis comes to mind much clearly.
“They say that they have to be very, very clear plays in which everyone must agree, and I think today they punished us a lot.”
