Kaizer Chiefs vs Mamelodi Sundowns: Kick off, TV channel, live score, squad news and preview
Masandawana are looking to start their league title defence with a victory against Amakhosi, who will not be pushovers at FNB Stadium
Kaizer Chiefs are set to renew their rivalry with Mamelodi Sundowns in their maiden game of the 2020/21 Premier Soccer League (PSL) season on Saturday.
Chiefs will be determined to secure a win in order to ease the pain of losing last season’s PSL title to Sundowns on the final day of the campaign.
Amakhosi are coming off a morale-boosting 2-1 win over Maritzburg United in the MTN8 quarter-finals which was also coach Gavin Hunt’s first game in charge of the team last weekend.
Hunt’s charges will take on a Sundowns side which is licking its wounds after succumbing to a 1-0 defeat to Bloemfontein Celtic last weekend in the MTN8 last-eight.
Sundowns co-coaches Manqoba Mngqithi and Rhulani Mokwena will be keen to silence their critics by guiding the team to a victory over Chiefs in a battle between two Gauteng giants.

Squads & Team News
Chiefs will be welcoming back experienced midfielders Lebogang Manyama and Willard Katsande, who missed the clash against Maritzburg due to suspension.
However, influential striker Samir Nurkovic and towering central defender Erick Mathoho are still nursing injuries and they are expected to miss the clash against Masandawana.
Hunt will once again look to young defender Yagan Sasman, who produced a Man of the Match performance in the win over Maritzburg, while accomplished forwards Bernard Parker and Khama Billiat are expected to lead the attack.
Meanwhile, Sundowns left-back Tebogo Langerman will be missing as he completes a two-match suspension, while forward Sibusiso Vilakazi is out nursing a long-term injury.
The Brazilians have enough depth to cope without the duo with Lyle Lakay expected to start in the left-back position, while Kermit Erasmus, Mauricio Affonso and Peter Shalulile are the striking options which are available.
The technical team will be hoping that their two key players Themba Zwane and Gaston Sirino are in good form against Chiefs, with the duo having combined well before the latter netted Sundowns’ winning goal in a league match between the two teams two months ago.
Match Preview
Chiefs are coming into this clash undefeated in their last three matches across all competitions having recorded two wins and one draw.
Amakhosi have lost just one of their last five home competitive matches and recorded two wins and two draws in the process.
While Sundowns saw their three-match unbeaten run across all competitions come to an end when they lost to Celtic.
However, Masandawana are undefeated in their last four competitive matches on the road having registered three successive wins and one draw as the visitors.
In head-to-head stats since 1985, Sundowns and Chiefs have met in 70 league matches.
Amakhosi have the upper hand having recorded 28 wins compared to 22 for the Brazilians, while 20 matches have been drawn.
Chiefs defeated Sundowns 2-0 in their first-round league clash in Tshwane last season, but Masandawana got their revenge in the second round encounter as they emerged 1-0 winners in Soweto.
