Wolves midfielder Joao Moutinho insists he’s happy for former teammate Digo Jota over his move to Liverpool.
Jota left Molineux last week in a deal worth a fee rising to £45m.
“I am very happy for him, as he is a very good player,” said Moutinho.
“Everyone knows that he is a great person. He is the type of player that every coach likes to have. He will have a great career at Liverpool.
“Diogo Jota has done many things, but now he can improve and win more things. He has all the qualities to do so.”
On his replacement at Wolves, Fabio Silva, Moutinho remarked: “He has great potential. He is a young man who needs to continue working, to show his qualities. I think he has everything to show how good he is. We will try to help him to improve and learn every day. with us, especially with Raúl Jiménez, as they play in the same position. It’s great to have him with us.”
Portugal teammate Nelson Semedo has also arrived at Wolves from Barcelona this week.
Moutinho added: “I know him very well. I saw him play for Benfica, Barcelona and the national team. He is an excellent person and also a great player. This is important for us because our group is very good. During these three years, Wolverhampton was one of the best groups I have ever had in football.
“Bringing players like Nélson Semedo, with these qualities, is very good for us. I think it will help us a lot.”
