Tottenham striker Harry Kane is shedding no tears after Manchester City missed out on Leo Messi.
City were favourites to land Messi before he chose to stick with Barcelona for the new season.
Kane told the Mirror: “I know there was a lot of talk of him going to Man City but it didn’t happen in the end. Obviously the Premier League is in a great place, we’ve got some of the best players from around the world so I can see how it can be attractive for players.
“Who knows – it might happen in the future. All I know is that he’s probably the best ever or one of the best ever. I’ve played against him before and he’s truly an incredible players. So it might have done us a favour that he stayed at Barcelona!”
