But if a deal can’t be struck, BILD claims Bayern Munich midfielder Thiago is being considered.
The Spain international has been a target for Liverpool this summer.
Koeman still prefers Wijnaldum, but Barca’s board dream of the return of Thiago, who came through La Masia before joining Bayern in 2013.
