Barcelona are eyeing Valencia fullback Jose Luis Gaya.
Sport says the delicate financial situation at Valencia hasn’t gone unnoticed by their LaLiga rivals.
They sold Ferran Torres to Manchester City but essentially gave Francis Coquelin and Dani Parejo away to Villarreal in an €8m double deal. Now, reports in Valencia claim Barça will test Los Che by making an offer for Gaya.
Gaya’s buyout clause stands at €50m but, with cash needed to help balance the books, Valencia might be open to a lower fee.
Barça would be open to signing a left-back, at the right price and on affordable wages, to compete with Jordi Alba for a starting spot. However, any move for Gaya is a long way off as many deals would need to be completed before they’d be in a position to approach Valencia over a transfer.
