Villarreal hero Martin Palermo admits he’s a big fan of Lautaro Martinez and can see the Inter Milan striker starring with Barcelona.
Barca and Inter have been in negotiations for months over a deal for the Argentina international.
Palermo told Mundo Deportivo: “At one point, when (Luis) Suarez was not playing due to injury, Barcelona felt the lack of such a player. But Suárez returned and showed that he can still contribute much more. That is now. For what is coming, of course Lautaro would be ideal for Barça and Leo (Messi).
“Today Lautaro sets the trend. He is a young player, who has been growing steadily for a long time. He had his explosion in Racing and is accumulating a great experience in Europe. At Inter he has already demonstrated his potential and has consolidated.
“Lautaro likes to go out and play, he needs space. And Suarez has that special presence in the area. One could use the other. Yes, they could work together smoothly.”
