Barcelona presidential candidate Victor Font has taken aim at the board over the sale of Arthur Melo.
Arthur has signed with Juventus in a swap for Miralem Pjanic.
Font said, “This trade which seems imminent shows the naked reality and that is that the state of the club is very worrying and that is where it hurts most, a precarious economic situation and chaos in the sporting side of it.
“The deal shows that the absolute priority of the board is making the numbers add up, the accounts have been tense for years and even before the pandemic situation.
“Last year it was Cilessen-Neto. This year, to save its neck, the management sends away a young strategic sports bet for the future who joined relatively recently. And this is a new demonstration that there is no sports project at a key time for the institution.”
