Barcelona are encouraging Erik Garcia to resist any new contract offer from Manchester City.
The former La Masia starlet is a target for Barca as they seek to bring the defender back home.
However, Mundo Deportivo says there’s no plans to move for Garcia this summer. Instead, Barca want to wait 12 months before making their push.
Garcia’s contract expires in a year’s time and there’s hope at Barca that he can be secured to a pre-contract this coming January.
For their part, City are desperate to keep hold of the youngster, though everything will now hinge on whether Garcia can be convinced about penning new terms.
