Former Arsenal and Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas is offering to defer his wages for four months.
The Spanish footballer has enjoyed a glittering career that has certainly made him a lot of money.
And he is willing to defer salary that would amount to £2 million in savings for his club Monaco.
The 32-year-old is even willing to cover the 30 percent of wages that were cut from the training ground staff at the club.
Fabregas has a personal connection to the outbreak, as his great-grandmother tested positive.
He said on Spanish TV earlier this month: “She’s 95 and the poor woman has unfortunately got coronavirus.
“There were a lot of people in her home who didn’t have it and we wanted to get them to a hotel.
“We tested them all again and 70 or 80 per cent came back positive for Covid-19, including my great-grandmother.”
