The Belgium international touched on a host of topics during a Twitter Q&A with fans on Saturday
Inter striker Romelu Lukaku has admitted he is unlikely to ever play in the Premier League again.
The 26-year-old spent eight years in England, joining Chelsea in 2011 before also representing West Brom, Everton and Manchester United.
In August 2019, Lukaku left the Red Devils to join up with Inter, where he has been a major success in his first season with the Serie A club.
The Belgium international scored 23 goals in all competitions in the 2019-20 season before it was suspended due to the outbreak of the coronavirus.
Though he is clearly enjoying life at San Siro, Lukaku was asked in a Twitter Q&A session on Saturday if he would ever play at the Premier League again and if so, if it would be at Everton.
“I don’t think so but I loved my time at Everton for real,” was Lukaku’s response.
Fans in Belgium will be more enthused about Lukaku’s answer when asked if he would ever return to Anderlecht, the club where he got his start as a professional.
“For sure,” Lukaku said when asked if he would follow in the footsteps of Vincent Kompany, who came back to Anderlecht as a player-coach prior to the 2019-20 season after more than a decade at Manchester City.
Lukaku was also quizzed on the best young players at Manchester United and Chelsea, saying that Mason Greenwood was his pick for the Red Devils
“That boy coldddddd,” Lukaku enthused about Greenwood, before selecting Mason Mount and Tammy Abraham as his two favourite young stars at Chelsea.
The Belgium international is happy to be with his current side, and highlighted a recent team talk from Antonio Conte as part of the reason he is enjoying being at Inter.
When asked about the most inspiring managerial team talk he’s heard in his career, Lukaku pointed to Conte’s half-time speech during February’s Milan derby.
Inter were down 2-0 at the break against their city rivals, only to storm back with a four-goal second half to win the match 4-2.
“Conte when we were 2-0 down against AC Milan,” Lukaku said. “He didn’t scream at all, he told us what to do and where to find space and we did the business.”
