Former Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino insists Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martinez is among the best players on the planet.
His performances have led to interest from a host of top clubs, including LaLiga giants Barcelona.
But Chelsea became the latest club to be linked with a move for Martinez after manager Frank Lampard failed to acquire a new striker in the winter transfer window.
Pochettino, who has been out of work since being sacked by Spurs in November, understands why Martinez is getting so much attention.
“Lautaro Martinez is one of the best strikers in the world,” Pochettino told Radio La Plata.
“It’s not just for what he does now, but for what his potential means going forward. If you start looking at hitmen for the big clubs, clearly his name has to be in there.”
