Xavier Mbuyamba has again insisted he has no regrets missing a move to Chelsea.
Mbuyamba left MVV Maastricht last year for Barcelona, but not before trialling wit Chelsea.
The teenage defender impressed at Cobham, but Chelsea‘s transfer ban halted negotiations dead in its tracks.
“The offer came in May, but then we had to wait for the results of the CAS in August. In the end we had to wait even longer and it was canceled,” he told Voetbal International.
Barcelona eventually snapped him up.
“I am also very happy that I am playing there now.
“It is going very well in the Under-19 squad and I hope to be able to grow quickly. Unfortunately, they now have too many central defenders in the first team. Within a few years I want to play in the firsts.”
