LaLiga president Javier Tebas is confident the season will kickoff again earlier than expected.
Tebas made clear that his intention is for the 2019/20 season to be concluded, despite the current suspension.
“We are going to end the season; we are working on deadlines,” he told Cuatro.
“There are several hypotheses: in April, May and I do not rule out that it may even be later.
“We are going to wait to see what UEFA decides.
“We have the experience of other countries, such as China, where they are already starting their sporting events this weekend.
“It will take time.
“In Spain, good measures have been taken and we trust that the break will be even shorter than than the one in China.”
Tebas didn’t rule out ending the league season in August, despite the fact that some players’ contracts end on June 30.
“[The league ending in August] is an option,” he added.
“There are several [options].
“We are working so that the competition ends, and I am convinced that it is going to end.
“There is a long time ahead to end the competition, but we have to wait for UEFA because we have to defend the entire football ecosystem, not only in Spain, but in other competitions such as the Champions League or the rest of the leagues.
“It is a common problem.”
