LaLiga to continue with emergency injury signings

The LaLiga will maintain the option of emergency injury signings throughout the season.

Marca reports FIFA had requested the change in writing, the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) insisted that it needed to be changed to align with other countries, but LaLiga refused to change the rule that allows clubs to sign a player outside a transfer window if they have a long term injury.

The topic came up in February as Martin Braithwaite left Leganes for Barcelona only weeks after Youssef En-Nesyri left the Madrid club for Sevilla.

The only vote against ending the law in the meeting on Tuesday was Cadiz, the club who represent Javier Tebas’ LaLiga in the commission, which helps to define how the federation works.
