Inter Milan powerbroker Marco Tronchetti Provera admits this summer could be the time to move for Barcelona star Lionel Messi.
Messi’s contract carries a break clause at the end of this season, which would allow him to leave Barca as a free agent. And amid tension with president Josep Maria Bartomeu and sporting director Eric Abidal, there is talk across the continent that Messi could be tempted to leave for the right offer.
Tronchetti Provera, Pirelli’s chief executive, has been involved with Inter since the days of former owner Massimo Moratti and still has an influence with the Nerazzurri.
And he confessed on local radio yesterday: “Messi is a dream that we have had in mind for over ten years, it may be the right time…”
