Barcelona are ready to move for Valencia attacker Ferran Torres.
Barca are in regular contact with the youngster’s management team – Leaderbrock Sports – and it’s emerged he has just turned down a new contract offer from Los Che.
Sport says Barca are ready to step up their pursuit and have informed Leaderbrock Sports they’re ready to kickoff negotiations.
With a deal running to 2021, Barca expect to do business with Valencia for around €35m this summer – despite his €100m buyout clause.
Barca made an attempt to sign Torres two years ago for €8m, but the youngster turned down the move due to plans for him to register with Barca B.
Although the player has already twice rejected new contract offers, Mestalla’s office do not take the negotiations for granted and remain confident of reaching an agreement with the young striker.
