Both current and historical form isn’t on Shrewsbury’s side ahead of this one – the League One strugglers have won just once in their last 11 as well as winning just once in 28 away games against sides in the top-flight. Perhaps, though, they’re optimistic they can make it two against a Liverpool side comprised predominantly of youth players.
After a 2-2 draw at Montgomery Waters Meadow at the end of January, Liverpool host Shrewsbury for the first time at Anfield, but they’ll notably be without Jurgen Klopp – a talking point that’s caused quite the stir. U23s head coach Neil Critchley will be in the dugout today, hoping to secure his first win in charge of the first team as well as a spot in the fifth round.
