Barcelona coach Quique Setien insists he doesn’t need a new striker signing after their Copa del Rey rout of Leganes.
The coach was asked about the Catalan club’s options to replace the injured Luis Suarez for the rest of the season and he brought up the Frenchman.
“I’m calm as in a few weeks Dembele will return and it’ll work out,” Setien explained in his post-match press conference after Barcelona‘s 5-0 win over Leganes.
“He has very specific talents and we will try to get the most out of them.
“He can give us a lot, regardless of which position he plays.
“He feels more comfortable on the wings, but we will get him the ball and he can show us the potential he has.
“We hope that his performances will be consistent.
“I have confidence in the players I have.
“There simply wasn’t an option in the market that has appeared convenient.”
Barcelona‘s victory over Leganes marked the club’s best performance since Setien took charge, yet the former Real Betis coach is refusing to get carried away.
“I really like to analyse things carefully, I want to watch this match again to see if there was something specific which went well for us,” he added.
“I don’t get carried away by one result.
“Our setup will change a lot.
“We did think about playing with three centre-backs again for a period.”
