The players are now emerging from the tunnel as kick-off edges closer at the San Siro.
These two sides met in the Coppa Italia just 12 days ago with Inter running out 4-1 victors on this occasions, while Conte’s men also won 2-1 against today’s opponents earlier in the season. The goalscoring omens also do not bode well for Cagliari given that Inter have scored in 34 of the last 35 clashes between the sides, with the hosts having netted an average of two goals per match during this time.
Conte has made three changes to the Inter side following 1-1 draw with Lecce last time out with Bastoni, Valero and Young entering the side in place of Godin as well as the injured Marcelo Brozovic and the suspended Antonio Candreva. Young comes into the starting line-up for his Inter debut, while there is a place on the bench for fellow new signing Moses. Meanwhile, Maran has made four changes to the Cagliari side as Cragno, Walukiewicz, Oliva and Ionita come into the starting line-up for Robin Olsen, Fabio Pisacane, Marko Rog and Cigarini.
SUBS: Luca Cigarini, Valter Birsa, Fabio Porru, Rafael, Charalampos Lykogiannis, Luca Gagliano, Lucas Castro, Robin Olsen, Federico Mattiello.
CAGLIARI (4-3-2-1): Alessio Cragno; Paolo Farago, Sebastian Walukiewicz, Ragnar Klavan, Luca Pellegrini; Nahitan Nandez, Christian Oliva, Artur Ionita; Radja Nainggolan, Joao Pedro; Giovanni Simeone.

Cagliari are sitting seventh in the Serie A table having also improved their league performance this campaign, but the Sardinia outfit have failed to win any of their last six league games which has seen them lose ground in the top-four race. However, Rolando Maran’s side did manage to end their miserable four-game losing run when they drew 2-2 with Brescia last weekend.
Inter enter the match sitting just four points behind Juventus at the Serie A summit, and Antonio Conte’s side will be aiming to keep the pressure on the champions with victory in this San Siro meeting. The Milan side have enjoyed an impressive league season so far following their fourth-placed finish last term, but they enter this match against Cagliari having drawn their last two Serie A matches following a 1-1 tie with Lecce last time out.
