Barcelona sacked Ernesto Valverde on Monday evening.
The Catalans have since announced the appointment of Quique Setien as his replacement.
On Monday morning, Valverde was informed that his time as coach of Barcelona is over by president Josep Maria Bartomeu during the meeting at Ciudad Deportiva.
Following Barcelona‘s elimination in the Supercopa de Espana against Atletico Madrid, Valverde’s future has been up in the air with Xavi having already been offered the job.
Oscar Grau, Eric Abidal and Ramon Planes were also present in the meeting as the president explained his reasons for the decision.
