Barcelona chiefs Eric Abidal and Oscar Grau have met with Al Sadd coach Xavi in Doha.
RAC1’s Gerard Romero revealed the delegation travelled to Qatar from Saudi Arabia and they did so to speak with former Barca midfielder Xavi about the possibility of taking over at Camp Nou in the future.
The meeting comes at a time when there’s criticism of Ernesto Valverde.
However, the Barça coach still has the backing of the players at the club and is expected to continue in the short-term.
Valverde’s position is in flux after Barca’s Supercopa de Espana semifinal defeat to Aletico Madrid in Jeddah this week.
