Manchester United are assisting Barcelona‘s plans to bring Neymar back from PSG, it has been revealed.
Barca’s board have agreed to focus everything on re-signing the Brazil captain as their big addition for 2020.
And L’Equipe says Neymar has been working on an escape plan out of Paris since last season’s Champions League collapse at the hands of United. While he missed the dramatic second-leg, Neymar was affected heavily by the setback.
A source close to the attacker revealed: “It was the defeat against Manchester United in the Champions League. Neymar came to win big things and after that defeat he saw that he couldn’t win them here.”
Barca twice failed with offers for Neymar last summer and are confident PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi will now cave into their pressure ahead of the summer market.
In September, Barca finance chief Enrique Tombas revealed: “With the conditions we offered, the recruitment of Neymar was perfectly viable.
“We made two proposals, one with players included in the transaction, one without. But they (PSG) refused both.”
