The Brazilians travel to Usuthu on Saturday night as they target their first PSL win in 2020

Mamelodi Sundowns will be looking to preserve their winning run in the Premier Soccer League (PSL) as they travel to face AmaZulu on Saturday night at Moses Mabhida Stadium.

The Brazilians face Usuthu whom they beat 1-0 in the previous round and will hope to get their second-round campaign on a high, but they will be wary of their refreshed hosts.

Coach Pitso Mosimane’s men travel to Durban at the back of a hard-fought 1-0 win over Polokwane City in their final match of 2019.

On the other hand, coach Jozef Vukusic is chasing for his second win on the trot following their 2-1 win over Bloemfontein Celtic away from home.

Usuthu will also be hoping to bag their fifth win of the season as they seem to be struggling under the Slovakian manager and a match such as this one should be motivating for the KwaZulu-Natal side.

The reigning PSL champions head to the clash fresh from a trip to Algeria where they registered a 1-0 in over USM Alger in the Caf Champions League and Mosimane looks to have his full squad as no injuries are reported ahead of the clash.

However, the club has announced experienced defender Ricardo Nascimento is back in training after undergoing an operation on his groin.

Having recently lifted the Telkom Knockout Cup trophy beating Maritzburg United last month, Sundowns managed to finish the year with an unbeaten run in all competitions and will look for continuity in Durban.

In addition, the resurgence of Andile Jali who could partner with Hlompho Kekana in the heart of the park sees second-placed Sundowns as favourites to win this encounter.

Coming to the hosts, Usuthu is gunning for revenge and will throw everything at their disposal to also avoid the relegation dogfight.

AmaZulu occupies number 12 on the log table with 16 points from 15 matches and Vukusic will look to see the likes of Siyethemba Mbguni and Bonginkosi Ntuli doing their jobs upfront to unsettle the Tshwane side.

Meanwhile, after parting ways with midfielder Ovidy Karuru just before the Christmas break, the club has announced the signing of Milos Lacny and the striker could boost their attacking options provided he has received his work permit.

As this will be the second clash of the league, Sundowns also managed another win in the TKO Cup, thrashing Usuthu 5-0.

The Chloorkop-based club will be looking to make it three out of three across all competitions at the iconic venue but they will have to be wary of an improved Usuthu under the Slovakian coach.

A look at the log table, Sundowns sit second with 28 points and will look to narrow the gap between them and Kaizer Chiefs while their hosts chase a decent spot on the log table.
