Barcelona coach Ernesto Valverde is confident of Gerard Pique‘s focus.
The defender is in charge of the Davis Cup currently being held in Spain. Valverde, though, doesn’t believe that the tennis tournament will be a distraction.
“If I see that he is focussed and ready to play then he’ll play,” he said ahead of Barca’s clash with Leganes.
“I’ve spoken with him and I see him as being focussed.
“He has interests outside of football and many players are criticised for only knowing football.
“We’ll see if he has permission to attend the Davis Cup or not.
“We have to leave him alone for now, as we have an important game.”
