Leicester City is putting their larger rivals to shame, with the Foxes now second favourite to finish in the Premier League top four.
With Liverpool and Manchester City excluded from the Sportsbet market because of their superiority and starts to the season, Leicester has come from $2.50 to $2 to be valued only behind Chelsea in the race for Champions League places.
One Sportsbet punter has gone all in on the Foxes staying in the top four, placing $1000 on them in the market when they were $5 and another $150 at $18 at the start of the season.
Brendan Rodgers’ side have a chance to further stamp their claim on a high finish when they take on fifth-placed Arsenal at the King Power Stadium on Saturday, with a home victory extending their advantage over Unai Emery’s team to nine points.
The Gunners have drifted to $3.30 for a top four position, the same as Tottenham, after a run of four winless games in all competitions, with Leicester a $2 favourite to knock off the Londoners, while a draw pays $3.60 and an Arsenal upset $3.50.
Many pundits have suggested that this Leicester team is better than the 2016 title-winning version, with the Foxes 23 points putting them one ahead of Claudio Ranieri’s squad and having scored four more goals and conceded 11 less.
Manchester United hasn’t been completely discounted to salvage their season and you can get juicy odds of $6 if you think Ole Gunnar Solsjkaer is going to lead a revival into the league’s top quartet of teams.
