Ajax coach Erik ten Hag admits he’s sorry to have lost Frenkie de Jong and Matthijs de Ligt this past summer.
De Jong left for Barcelona, while De Ligt was sold to Juventus.
Ten Hag lamented: “We hoped that De Ligt and De Jong could stay here.
“These are two players still very young and we had hoped to keep them for a few more years.
“Unfortunately this is today’s market where many junior players are getting older, but we still have a team with a lot of talented players and we have all the conditions to become competitive again.”
