The former agent of Ansu Fati has lifted the lid on how close the teen came from being lost to Barcelona last summer.
Junior Minguella admits the confusion also saw he and his father lose the 16 year-old sensation as a client.
He told L’Equipe: “In the spring, Barça made an exceptional contract to Ilaix (Moriba, 16) so that he did not go to Manchester City.
“So, as can be understood, Ansu’s father asked for the same sum for his son to extend. Barça did not want not to enter a spiral with all their promising young players. They offered a little less than for Ilaix, but the offer was close. We agreed.
“It was around July 5th. My father spoke with Bori (Ansu’s father). But Bori returned to the offices and decided to resume negotiations to have more. The club refused. Bori came back with three different agents. With each time the same answer.
“And, in the end, I do not know how, it seems that with the brother of Leo (Messi), he got that slight rise they wanted.”
