Barcelona teen Ansu Fati’s Spanish citizenship is set to be secured today.
Fati has been one of the great revelations from this 2019/20 season so far and, at just 16 years of age, he has done enough for the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) to ensure that he receives Spanish citizenship, which he will do so on Friday, says Marca.
The Barcelona forward was born in Bissau but moved to Seville at six years old, and now Spain are desperate for him to feature at the Under-17 World Cup in Brazil, which will get underway on October 26.
Fati’s presence at the tournament will prevent him from playing in the first Clasico of the season as Real Madrid will travel to the Camp Nou on October 27.
