REVEALED: Barcelona and Spurs had Coutinho agreement, but Levy…

Barcelona were left baffled by Tottenham’s transfer tactics last week, it has been revealed.

Mundo Deportivo says Barca and Spurs struck terms over a deal for Philippe Coutinho on Tuesday.

The agreement was based around a loan arrangement with a permanent option and gave the two clubs another two days to iron out the final details.

With Barca in the US for a friendly with Napoli, the two clubs agreed to complete the transfer by fax.

Barca officials remained awake until 3am by their fax machine in Miami on Wednesday morning (local time), having sent across the final documents earlier in the day.

All that was required was for Spurs chairman Daniel Levy to sign the contract and send it back – but it never came.
