First up for the reigning European champions is a home match against Norwich, who recovered from a fairly slow start last season to earn promotion from the Championship under former Borussia Dortmund reserve team boss Daniel Farke. The visitors were the lowest-spending side in the top flight during the close season, but Farke is confident of survival in City’s first season back in the big time since 2016.
Liverpool were runners-up in the Premier League last season, finishing just a point behind back-to-back champions Manchester City. Despite not bringing in any big-name players during the close season, Jurgen Klopp’s men have been tipped to push City all the way once again this term as they attempt to end their long-running wait for a first Prem crown.
