Who will win the Premier League in 2019-20? The favourites, outsiders, underdogs & latest odds

Manchester City made it back-to-back titles last season after pipping Liverpool by a single point, but will they make it three in a row this campaign?

Another thrilling season of Premier League action is just around the corner as the 2019-20 campaign kicks off on Friday August 9.

Manchester City dramatically retained their title last term after being pushed all the way by Liverpool, who finished 25 points above third-placed Chelsea.

Who are the favourites to win the Premier League?

Man City are just 1/2 (1.50) with bet365 to win the Premier League for the third season in a row, which comes as little surprise considering they have amassed 198 points across their last two campaigns.

Pep Guardiola’s men won 32 games in the top flight last season and signalled their intent to improve even further by spending £62.8 million (€70m) on midfielder Rodri from Atletico Madrid.

City became the first English club to win the domestic treble in 2018-19 when they added Carabao Cup and FA Cup glory, making them one of the most feared sides in world football.

Liverpool are 13/5 (3.60) after finishing just a single point behind the Citizens last term, recording 97 points in total, and will be determined to go one better to claim their maiden Premier League title.

The Reds were marshalled by Virgil van Dijk at the back and led by attacking trio Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane, although a lack of transfer activity this summer may be enough to put punters off.

Who are the Premier League outsiders?

Tottenham are 16/1 (17.0) long shots to win the Premier League, which comes as little surprise considering they finished 27 points behind Man City last term.

The north Londoners did lose top scorer Harry Kane to injury on two separate occasions last season and ended with a run of three losses in their final five games, only confirming their Champions League place on the last day of the campaign.

Although Spurs have signed midfielder Tanguy Ndombele for £55m (€62m) from Lyon, it would take a significant improvement for them to challenge for the 2019-20 Premier League.

Chelsea are available at 33/1 (34.0) ahead of Frank Lampard’s first season in charge – just one of the moves in a busy summer at Stamford Bridge.

Eden Hazard left west London after seven years there and Alvaro Morata remains on loan at Atletico Madrid, but a transfer ban means the Blues only have one new face in Christian Pulisic.

Tammy Abraham has spent the last three seasons on loan in the Championship, scoring 25 goals on loan at Aston Villa last season, but could be set to spearhead Chelsea’s attack after being handed the number nine shirt.

Who are the Premier League underdogs?

Manchester United are 40/1 (41.0) with bet365 to claim a 14th Premier League title, having improved under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in the second half of the campaign.

The Red Devils finished sixth last season, claiming 66 points, and even the big-money signings of Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Harry Maguire are unlikely to provide the impetus needed to challenge for the title.

Out at 66/1 (67.0) are Arsenal, who are aiming to end a 16-year Premier League drought and certainly have the attacking talent to do it after signing Nicolas Pepe for a club-record £72m (€80m) to link up with Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

The 73 goals netted by the Gunners last season were the most outside of the top two, however their lack of defensive signings still poses a concern after they kept just eight clean sheets and conceded 51 goals.

Such is the gulf between the top six and the remainder of the Premier League that Wolves and Everton, who finished seventh and eighth respectively last term, are both 150/1 (151.0) shots with bet365.
