Barcelona coach Ernesto Valverde is looking forward to facing Arsenal on Sunday.
The Gunners are this summer’s Joan Gamper Trophy opponents.
Valverde said that his players are “excited to get back in contact with our stadium, with our fans. The players, the new ones want to introduce themselves to their new stadium and the others want to return on a good note”.
On the London-based opponent, Valverde commented that they are “a tough rival, we hope everything goes well. They’re more in shape, the Premier League starts next week. They’re coming off the back of some good games and they’ve made signings, not many, but big ones.
“[Unai] Emery is a coach that knows us, his sides play with a lot of intensity, they want to play and they press. It will be an attractive game for the fans.”
